Become a volunteer

Do you want to get to know a new culture and commit yourself to children in need? At Siam-Care we welcome volunteers. From one day to a few months: you are welcome to experience a beautiful adventure with us. And more importantly: to use your gifts and talents for the underprivileged.

Most volunteers go to Mukdahan, in Northeast Thailand. This is where our largest team works and where we have accommodation where you can sleep. What you can do, depends on the period. In any case, a flexible attitude is required, since our teams only speak limited English, and you probably don't speak Thai. As a result, you will sometimes only be observing , while at other times you can actively lend a hand.

Optional activities

Depending on your preferences and the period you visit us, you could, for example, help with:

• Visiting vulnerable families at home to encourage them
• Teaching English in local schools
• Construction activities (building toilets, repairing roofs, etc.)
• Supporting the local church in children's work
• Fundraising
• Providing practical assistance with, for example, gardening at our office compound, cleaning, painting, etc.

What does it cost?

Volunteers can come and help for free, we do not ask for a payment. You only pay a small expense allowance for the bungalow where you sleep (Unless you arrange a hotel outside our compound yourself). In addition, we ask every volunteer to sponsor a child, or find someone else to sponsor a child. Hier lees je meer over wat dit inhoudt.
