Ning (born 2016, not her real name) is a 9-year-old girl who lives with her sister Bow (born 2019) and her aunt and cousin. Their mother suddenly left the family years ago, leaving her daughters with their father. Her father then became addicted to alcohol and disappeared as well. This is Ning's story.
The mother and father leaving is unfortunately a common problem in Thailand. They don't care for their children, except for the occasional phone call. Their father couldn't handle the care of his children and appealed to the government to have them placed in an orphanage. The government contacted Siam-Care, and together we tried to find a better solution. Fortunately, their aunt (the mother's sister) was willing to take both girls in, so they're not completely alone.

Moving after moving
This wasn't the first solution, however. Meanwhile, Siam-Care helped their father move to a safe place for him and his daughters. Unfortunately, the father became addicted to alcohol. The girls also lived with another aunt for a while, but she ultimately proved unable to care for them properly.
Huge improvement

Staying with aunt
Auntie, originally from Laos, has a daughter of her own and isn't well off. That's why Siam-Care supports the school fees for both girls, so they can complete their education and hopefully be able to provide for themselves later. Ning is a cheerful and lively girl who hopes to become a teacher. Her sister isn't sure what she wants to do in the future, but says she's happy with her aunt and wants to stay here.
