Hundreds of children can go to school with the support of Siam-Care. Among them are Khawfang and Khawhom, whom we'd like to introduce to you. We'll also share how we're trying to change their lives. Thanks to your support. <\/em>

Khawfang (born 2015) is a 10-year-old girl who lives with her mother Noi (born 1996), father Petchpanom (born 1981), and sister Khawhom (born 2014) in poor and arid northeast Thailand. The family faces two significant challenges: her mother is from Laos, and her father is disabled.

<\/strong>Years ago, her mother moved from Laos to Thailand, hoping for a better future. She met her husband, and both previously worked. Until her father suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2022, leaving him paralyzed on one side. He can no longer work. So now her mother is the breadwinner, which is challenging for a Laotian. She's not allowed to work legally in many places and is at great risk of exploitation and underpayment. She works as a day laborer, earning around 5 euros a day on days she has work. Unfortunately, there's often insufficient work, especially during non-harvest periods. As a result, the family struggles to make ends meet.

How do we help?<\/strong>
The most important thing we can do for this family is to offer them a future. We do this by supporting both girls' school fees. This includes their school uniforms, pencils, pens, transportation, and other school-related expenses. Without our help, both Khawfang and her sister would likely have to drop out of school. We also helped them renovate their house. There were no stairs, the roof was leaking, and walls were missing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheerful, talkative girls<\/strong>
Both Khawfang and Khawhom are cheerful and talkative girls. They love drawing and watching cartoons. Khawfang is currently in the 6th grade, her sister Khawhom is a year older. The sisters can only attend school with the help of Siam-Care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
