Prevention<\/h1>\n

Prevention is better than cure. That is why we actively provide information to protect people from the risks of (unprotected) sex.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Prevention is better than cure<\/h2>\n

In Thailand, parents and teachers often prefer not to talk about sex. As a result, one in 20 girls between the ages of 15-19 gets pregnant unintentionally and HIV is still spreading, especially among young people. We are trying to stop this through targeted education.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our goal is to help stop HIV from spreading in Thailand and to make families independent. Education is an important tool in this. To ensure that HIV does not spread further. And to help (especially) young people protect themselves well against sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies.<\/p>\n

Siam-Care therefore has an prevention program consisting of:<\/p>\n

Sex education in secondary schools<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We inform (mainly) teenagers about the dangers of (unsafe) sex. We also talk about respect for your own body and that of your peers. Sometimes we offer these trainings in prisons, for example, where young people run greater risks. Or during youth camps for Siam-Care youth themselves.<\/p>\n

Training of teachers <\/strong><\/h3>\n

We help teachers improve their knowledge about sex and its risks, and teach them skills to bring it up in the classroom.<\/p>\n

Training of church and community leaders<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We share knowledge and teach skills so leaders can train and inform those around them.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Organizing events<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On special (holi)days we organize information campaigns. For example on Valentine's Day or World Aids Day. In this way we create more awareness for Siam-Care and our work. And inform and train people in a relaxed, informal way.<\/p>\n

Our training is also increasingly focused on the online world. Given that young people spend a large part of their time on social media. How do you behave safely and responsibly there?
