Keng's mother, Chantanom, is originally from Laos and is HIV-positive. She requires continuous medical care and antiretroviral medication for this. Fortunately, his father Kwanchai and Keng are not infected.
As a Laotian migrant, Chantanom has limited opportunities in the Thai labor market. The family therefore lives in the province where her husband comes from. Both parents work as day laborers and earn approximately 250 baht per day each. Work is not always available, and their combined income is barely sufficient to live on. There is no money to renovate their home.
A house that offers protection
Despite the difficult circumstances, Keng is a cheerful and smart boy. His parents want nothing more than for him to be able to continue attending school, complete his education, and later have more opportunities than they do.
Thanks to the support of Siam-Care, Keng can go to school. However, to develop properly, he also needs a safe place to come home to. The current home is simple and dilapidated and offers insufficient protection against rain, wind, and extreme heat. This is particularly concerning because his mother is more vulnerable to these conditions due to her health.
The family does not have the means to carry out the necessary repairs themselves. With €625, we can repair the most urgent damage and purchase the necessary building materials, making the home safer and more habitable.
With your contribution, you not only help improve this family's living conditions, but you also give Keng a better foundation to grow up healthy and work on his future.
Will you help give Keng and his parents a safer home? Every contribution is welcome and makes a difference!
